President Ilham Aliyev Reviews Azerbaijan Navy’s Unmanned Naval Capabilities

Baku, The Gulf Observer: President of the Republic of Azerbaijan and Supreme Commander-in-Chief of the Armed Forces Ilham Aliyev, accompanied by First Lady Mehriban Aliyeva, visited the Azerbaijani Navy to review ongoing military development and the country’s advancing unmanned naval capabilities.
During the visit, Defense Minister Colonel General Zakir Hasanov briefed President Ilham Aliyev on the Navy’s activities and developments.
President Ilham Aliyev and First Lady Mehriban Aliyeva laid flowers at the monument dedicated to National Leader Heydar Aliyev located in front of the headquarters of the Azerbaijani Navy, paying tribute to his memory.
The President and First Lady were subsequently briefed on the SALVO armed unmanned surface vessels (AUSVs) and KAYRA kamikaze unmanned surface vessels (KUSVs), which have been developed using advanced technologies at a joint production facility operated by MIRAS Military-Industrial Company LLC under the Ministry of Defense and DEARSAN Shipyard JSC.
The Azerbaijani leadership reviewed the tactical and technical specifications of the unmanned vessels, as well as their intended operational capabilities and technological features.
President Ilham Aliyev and First Lady Mehriban Aliyeva also inspected the production facility and reviewed progress in the development and manufacturing of the unmanned naval systems.
The unmanned surface vessels produced at the facility were subsequently subjected to practical testing as part of efforts to assess their operational capabilities and performance.
Following the visit, an operational meeting on military development was held under the chairmanship of President Ilham Aliyev in his capacity as Supreme Commander-in-Chief of the Armed Forces.
The meeting focused on developments in Azerbaijan’s military capabilities and ongoing efforts to strengthen the country’s defense infrastructure and technological capacity.
