President Mirziyoyev Receives Turkish Delegation
Tashkent, The Gulf Observer: On June 26, President of Uzbekistan Shavkat Mirziyoyev received a delegation from Türkiye, led by Minister of National Defense Yaşar Güler, who arrived in the country on a working visit.
At the beginning of the meeting, Minister Güler conveyed sincere greetings and best wishes from President Recep Tayyip Erdoğan of Türkiye to President Mirziyoyev.
The discussions centered on deepening Uzbek-Turkish relations within the framework of a comprehensive strategic partnership. Special attention was given to the implementation of agreements reached during the high-level visit to Ankara on June 5-6 of this year.
Prospects for developing military and military-technical cooperation were also considered. Key topics included inter-agency collaboration, the organization of joint events, and the training of military specialists.
Particular attention was paid to strengthening cooperation in the field of security. Measures to counter terrorism, extremism, and radicalism were discussed in detail.
The leaders exchanged opinions on ensuring peace and stability in the region, with a specific focus on the situation in Afghanistan.
This meeting underscores the commitment of both nations to fostering strong bilateral relations and addressing common security challenges.
