President of Turkmenistan meets OSCE Chairperson
Ashgabat, The Gulf Observer: President of Turkmenistan Serdar Berdimuhamedov received in Ashgabat on Monday Foreign Minister of North Macedonia Bujar Osmani, who chairs the Organisation for Security and Cooperation in Europe (OSCE), the official Turkmen media reports.
During the meeting, Bujar Osmani praised the importance of comprehensive measures taken to implement the agreements reached in recent years between Turkmenistan, the OSCE and other leading international organisations. He also noted the country’s active role in the implementation of joint projects and the development of regional and international cooperation.
President Berdimuhamedov stressed the importance of effective cooperation with foreign partners, including the OSCE and other major international organisations. As part of this cooperation, Turkmenistan is actively involved in the implementation of joint programmes and projects aimed at achieving sustainable development goals and ensuring universal security, the Head of State stressed.
In particular, the need to take measures in certain areas, including ensuring safe and reliable supply of energy resources to world markets, creating conditions for sustainable economic development, increasing transport potential, protecting the environment and planning the rational use of water resources, was also noted during the talks.
During the discussion, the sides confirmed the constructiveness of bilateral relations between Turkmenistan and North Macedonia, expressing interest in expanding cooperation in political, trade and economic, cultural and humanitarian areas. In this context, the Head of State emphasised that Turkmenistan is ready to consider proposals for cooperation in these areas.
At the end of the meeting, President Serdar Berdimuhamedov and the OSCE Chairperson expressed confidence in further development of effective co-operation.
