President Rahmon Meets Inter-Parliamentary Union Secretary General in Dushanbe

Dushanbe, The Gulf Observer: President of Tajikistan, Leader of the Nation, Emomali Rahmon held a meeting with Secretary General of the Inter-Parliamentary Union, Martin Chungong, to discuss cooperation between Tajikistan and the influential international organization.
During the meeting, President Rahmon welcomed the high-level guest to Tajikistan on the occasion of his participation in the Fourth High-Level International Conference on the International Decade for Action, “Water for Sustainable Development, 2018–2028.” He also expressed appreciation for the active cooperation of the Inter-Parliamentary Union with Tajikistan on issues related to water resources and climate change.
The discussions highlighted the important role of the Inter-Parliamentary Union as an effective platform for promoting peaceful initiatives and addressing global challenges worldwide.
Both sides also underlined the significance of parliamentary diplomacy as an essential mechanism for strengthening relations among countries, enhancing transparency, supporting democratic principles, and ensuring sustainable development.
The meeting further included an exchange of views on peaceful approaches to resolving ongoing global conflicts and challenges facing the international community.
