President Tokayev Meets with Defense Minister Zhakssykykov to Discuss Military Development and Readiness

Astana, The Gulf Observer: President – Commander-in-Chief of Kazakhstan, Kassym-Jomart Tokayev, received Defense Minister Ruslan Zhakssykykov for a comprehensive briefing on the Ministry’s activities in 2024, combat readiness, and evolving approaches to military training.
Minister Zhakssykykov reported on the progress made in developing the state defense order, enhancing social and ideological initiatives, and advancing military infrastructure. He also outlined the Ministry’s focus on improving the armed forces’ operational capabilities.
Following the meeting, President Tokayev issued specific directives aimed at strengthening the military’s combat potential. These include further digitalizing military management systems, developing special operation forces, and reinforcing social and ideological activities within the armed forces.
Additionally, it was previously reported that President Tokayev has tasked the Cabinet with prioritizing the development of Kazakhstan’s tourism sector, signaling the government’s commitment to advancing key sectors of the economy.
