President Tokayev Prioritizes Human Rights and Security in State-of-the-Nation Address

Astana, The Gulf Observer: In his State-of-the-Nation Address, President Kassym-Jomart Tokayev emphasized the need for comprehensive human rights protection as a cornerstone for Kazakhstan’s deep socioeconomic reforms, according to the NHC.

President Tokayev outlined his vision for a fair and progressive society, stating that the ongoing socioeconomic reforms, coupled with robust human rights measures, are essential for the nation’s comprehensive development. “We will continue to work in this direction,” the President assured.

He also highlighted the importance of ensuring the security of the people as a fundamental value for both individuals and society at large. Reflecting on recent achievements, President Tokayev noted that Kazakhstan has made significant strides in creating a safe environment, and he underscored the critical task of making the country a convenient and secure place for all its citizens.

The President charged law enforcement agencies with the responsibility of safeguarding public security, instructing the Interior Ministry to take stringent measures against a range of offenses, from disorderly conduct and vandalism to illegal migration and serious crimes. He also emphasized the need to counter the activities of extremists, including religious radicals, urging law enforcement to uphold professionalism and strict adherence to principles in their duties.
