President Xi Jinping Inspects PLA Northern Theater Command Ahead of Spring Festival

Beijing, The Gulf Observer: Chinese President Xi Jinping inspected the People’s Liberation Army (PLA) Northern Theater Command on Friday, extending festive greetings to military personnel ahead of the Spring Festival, which falls on January 29 this year.
In his capacity as General Secretary of the Communist Party of China (CPC) Central Committee and Chairman of the Central Military Commission (CMC), President Xi conveyed his best wishes to service members of the PLA, the People’s Armed Police Force, civilian personnel serving in the military, and members of the militia and reserve forces.
During his visit, Xi met with officers and soldiers of the PLA Northern Theater Command and later addressed representatives of troops across the military via video link. He was briefed on the combat readiness duties and mission execution status of the forces and commended their dedication and accomplishments.
Highlighting the importance of maintaining vigilance during the holidays, Xi urged the troops to enhance their combat readiness and effectively prepare to respond to any emergencies. He emphasized the role of the military in safeguarding national security and ensuring social stability during the Spring Festival.
The PLA Northern Theater Command is a key regional military body responsible for protecting China’s northern borders and maritime interests. President Xi’s visit underlines the strategic importance of military preparedness, especially during critical national celebrations.
