Tehran-Mashhad High-Speed Train Set to Launch Next Week

Qom, The Gulf Observer: The Islamic Republic of Iran Railways (RAI) has announced the imminent launch of the Tehran-Mashhad high-speed train, scheduled for next week. Ali Kazemi-Manesh, RAI’s Director of Planning and Monitoring Rail Services, made the announcement on Saturday during a ceremony introducing the new director general of the Railways Department in Qom Province.
The high-speed train will reduce travel time between the capital city, Tehran, and the holy city of Mashhad in Razavi Khorasan Province, covering the distance in just 8 hours and 20 minutes.
Kazemi-Manesh emphasized the importance of the railway system in achieving sustainable development, highlighting the connection of the rail network to major industrial centers as a cornerstone of national policy.
He also noted significant progress in Qom Province’s railway infrastructure over the past four years, including increased transportation of goods and passengers, which reflects the government’s prioritization of rail network expansion.
The initiative aligns with the National Consensus Government’s commitment to enhancing Iran’s railway network and improving the quality of rail services for passengers and freight. The Tehran-Mashhad high-speed train is expected to boost economic connectivity and service standards across the country.
