Prime Minister Anwar Congratulates High Achievers of 2024 SPM

Kuala Lumpur, The Gulf Observer: Prime Minister Datuk Seri Anwar Ibrahim has extended his heartfelt congratulations to all students who achieved outstanding results in the 2024 Sijil Pelajaran Malaysia (SPM) examination, the results of which were officially announced on Thursday.
In a statement shared via his official Facebook account, the Prime Minister commended the efforts of the high-performing students and expressed hope that they would continue their pursuit of knowledge and excellence in higher education.
“To those who excelled, may you continue to strive with the same spirit and dedication to reach greater heights in your educational journey,” Anwar stated.
Acknowledging students who may not have attained their desired results, the Prime Minister urged them not to be disheartened but to remain resilient and explore the many educational opportunities still available to them.
“There is no single path to success. The Madani government remains committed to supporting our youth through a quality higher education system and strengthening Technical and Vocational Education and Training (TVET) initiatives that offer alternative and practical routes to a brighter future,” he emphasized.
The 2024 SPM results marked a significant improvement in national academic performance, recording the best results since 2013. The National Average Grade (GPK) improved to 4.49, compared to 4.60 in 2023.
Official analysis also revealed a notable rise in the number of candidates achieving excellent results. A total of 14,179 students (3.7%) obtained straight A grades (A+, A, A-) in all subjects, an increase from 11,713 candidates in the previous year.
The Ministry of Education has lauded the improved performance as a reflection of the effectiveness of ongoing reforms and the resilience of students and educators across the nation.
