Qatar Participates in G7 Ministerial Meeting on Middle East Stability in Italy

Fiuggi, The Gulf Observer: The State of Qatar participated in the ministerial meeting of the Group of Seven (G7) and Arab partners held on Monday in Fiuggi, Italy, under the theme “Together for the Stability of the Middle East.”

Minister of State at the Ministry of Foreign Affairs, His Excellency Dr. Mohammed bin Abdulaziz bin Saleh Al Khulaifi, represented Qatar at the meeting.

In his address, Dr. Al Khulaifi emphasized the meeting’s importance as a platform for constructive cooperation between the G7 and Arab nations in addressing pressing challenges to stability and peace in the Middle East, including those related to Gaza, the West Bank, Lebanon, and Sudan. He highlighted the broader global implications of these conflicts on security, development, energy markets, and migration flows.

Dr. Al Khulaifi outlined Qatar’s three foundational principles for fostering regional stability: mediation, investment in human development, and sustainable economic cooperation. He pointed to Qatar’s diplomatic successes in mediating negotiations, hosting peace talks, and providing substantial humanitarian aid. Qatar’s efforts have supported rebuilding schools, hospitals, and communities in conflict zones.

Urging a united effort, Dr. Al Khulaifi called on participants to promote comprehensive economic development, support conflict resolution mechanisms, and enhance energy security through sustainable solutions. He stressed that these measures are vital to reducing regional vulnerabilities and fostering long-term stability.

Reaffirming Qatar’s commitment to global cooperation, Dr. Al Khulaifi stated, “Through effective partnership, we can transform shared commitments into concrete actions to ensure progress and stability for the Middle East and beyond.”

The meeting underscored the shared responsibility of the G7 and Arab partners in addressing the intertwined challenges of regional and global stability, with Qatar reiterating its readiness to contribute meaningfully to these efforts.
