Qatar Participates in Global Nature Positive Summit in Sydney

Sydney, The Gulf Observer: The State of Qatar is actively participating in the Global Nature Positive Summit, taking place in Sydney from October 8 to 10. The Qatari delegation is led by Minister of Environment and Climate Change, H.E. Dr. Abdullah bin Abdulaziz bin Turki Al Subaie.

During the summit, Minister Al Subaie highlighted Qatar’s commitment to sustainable development, discussing various programs and initiatives aimed at environmental protection and preservation. In a meeting with the Secretariat of the “Alliance for Nature,” he emphasized that environmental sustainability is a priority for Qatar, as outlined in the Qatar National Vision 2030. This vision allocates its fourth pillar to environmental development, promoting harmony between economic and social growth and environmental stewardship.

On the sidelines of the summit, Minister Al Subaie held discussions with Australia’s Minister for the Environment and Water, H.E. Tanya Plibersek. The two ministers explored avenues for joint cooperation that would enhance sustainable development efforts, combat climate change, and adapt to its impacts.

Additionally, Minister Al Subaie engaged with several senior international officials, experts in environmental issues and climate change, and representatives from various participating governments and international organizations. This participation underscores Qatar’s ongoing dedication to addressing global environmental challenges and fostering collaborative solutions.
