Samarkand Prepares to Host AIIB Annual Meeting This Autumn

Samarkand, The Gulf Observer: Registration is now open for the 9th Annual Meeting of the Asian Infrastructure Investment Bank (AIIB), which will be held in Samarkand from September 25 to 26, 2024. According to media reports and the Ministry of Investment, Industry, and Trade’s Telegram channel, the theme for this year’s meeting is “Creating Sustainable Infrastructure for All”.

As AIIB’s flagship event, the Annual Meeting will highlight the Bank’s achievements and facilitate feedback from shareholders. It serves as a universal platform for dialogue, attracting governors and delegates from AIIB member countries, as well as the Bank’s partners and clients, business leaders, civil society organizations, and industry experts from around the world.

Uzbekistan, a founding member of the AIIB, boasts a substantial investment portfolio from the Bank, exceeding $3 billion. Additionally, under a three-year investment program between the AIIB and the Government of Uzbekistan, projects worth another $2 billion are currently in development.

The Annual Meeting promises to be a significant event for discussing and promoting sustainable infrastructure initiatives globally.
