Saudi Arabia expresses condolences to Libya over flood victims
Riyadh, The Gulf Observer: Saudi Arabia has expressed its condolences and solidarity with Libya and its people for the victims of the floods that devastated the city of Derna.
In a statement issued by Saudi Arabia’s Ministry of Foreign Affairs, it expressed the Kingdom’s condolences for the victims’ families and relatives.
Saudi Arabia also expressed its sincere wishes for the survival of the missing and the speedy recovery of the injured.
Storm Daniel, which struck eastern Libya, caused heavy rains exceeding 400 millimeters in some areas, and the Libyan unity government confirmed that the amount of rain in the east of the country had not been recorded for more than 40 years.
According to the Libyan Minister of Health, he said that the number of victims of the floods had reached 3,000 people, while the Red Cross said about 10,000 people were missing.
