Saudi Minister Dr. Tawfiq Al-Rabiah Receives Malaysia’s Prestigious Hijra Personality of the Year Award

Kuala Lumpur, The Gulf Observer: King Ibrahim bin Iskandar of Malaysia has awarded the internationally recognized Hijra Personality of the Year Medal, also known as the Prophet’s Hijra Award, to Dr. Tawfiq Al-Rabiah, Minister of Hajj and Umrah of the Kingdom of Saudi Arabia, in recognition of Saudi Arabia’s pioneering role in transforming the Hajj and Umrah experience for Muslims around the world.
The award was presented during an official ceremony marking the Hijri New Year 1447 AH in Kuala Lumpur, held under the esteemed patronage of His Majesty King Ibrahim bin Iskandar. The ceremony, themed “Building a Civil Nation,” was also attended by Malaysian Prime Minister Anwar Ibrahim and Minister of Religious Affairs Dr. Mohd Na’im bin Haji Mokhtar.
The Prophet’s Hijra Award is one of Malaysia’s highest national honors, conferred annually upon two distinguished individuals — one Malaysian and one international — whose contributions have had a lasting and positive impact on their communities and the wider Muslim world, particularly in advancing Islamic values, service, and leadership.
Dr. Al-Rabiah was recognized for his exceptional leadership in overseeing Saudi Arabia’s efforts to modernize and enhance Hajj and Umrah services, implement smart technologies, and improve the overall spiritual and logistical experience for millions of pilgrims visiting the Two Holy Mosques each year.
In his acceptance, Dr. Al-Rabiah expressed gratitude to the Malaysian leadership for the honor and reiterated the Kingdom’s ongoing commitment, under the leadership of Custodian of the Two Holy Mosques King Salman bin Abdulaziz Al Saud and Crown Prince Mohammed bin Salman, to serving the Guests of Allah with excellence and innovation.
The award presentation highlights the close ties between Saudi Arabia and Malaysia and underscores shared values of service, faith, and commitment to the global Muslim community.
