Shavkat Mirziyoyev holds meeting with head of OSCE/ODIHR mission
Tashkent, The Gulf Observer: The preparation and holding of the upcoming presidential elections were considered at a meeting between the President of the Republic of Uzbekistan Shavkat Mirziyoyev and the head of the mission of the Bureau for Democratic Institutions and Human Rights of the Organization for Security and Cooperation in Europe (OSCE/ODIHR) Ursula Gachek, held on Monday.
The head of our state noted with deep satisfaction the established constructive dialogue, active exchanges, open and fruitful cooperation with the OSCE.
Bureau experts took part in the modernization of the national electoral system, including the development of the Electoral Code of our country.
The OSCE/ODIHR mission also participated in the observation of the constitutional referendum held on 30 April this year.
During the meeting, a thorough exchange of views took place on various aspects of holding a popular vote in accordance with international standards.
The head of the ODIHR mission, Ursula Gachek, expressed support for the irreversible processes of further deepening democratic transformations and socio-economic reforms in New Uzbekistan. Measures being taken to hold transparent and fair elections in our country were noted.
