Shusha Residents Celebrate Eid al-Adha in Homeland After 32-Year

Shusha, The Gulf Observer: In a significant event marking the observance of Qurban Eid, sacrifices were made for newly relocated residents of Shusha, as reported by media. The event was jointly organized by the Special Representation of the President of the Republic of Azerbaijan in the Shusha District, the Food Safety Agency, and the State Reserve Department of Shusha city.

Held in the yard of the new residential complex, the event saw the slaughter and distribution of sacrificial animals. Aydin Karimov, the special representative of the President of Azerbaijan in Shusha, along with heads of various bodies operating in the region, participated in the event. The slaughter and sale of sacrificial animals were conducted under veterinary supervision in a modern mobile slaughter tent installed at the precinct.

Additionally, the Azerbaijan Institute of Food Safety’s mobile laboratory was operational in the area, ensuring the highest standards of food safety and hygiene.

The Food Safety Agency, in collaboration with relevant institutions, also organized the slaughter and sale of sacrificial animals in the recently liberated villages of Agali and Aghdara in the Zangilan district, and the Talish villages of Aghdara district on June 16-17, coinciding with Qurban Eid. This initiative was extended for the first time to the Shusha, Fuzuli, and Lachin districts.

This year, the sale and slaughter of sacrificial animals were organized at 147 locations across the country, reflecting a nationwide effort to facilitate the observance of Qurban Eid and ensure that communities, especially those newly relocated, are supported and integrated.

The event underscores the commitment of the Azerbaijani government to support its citizens and uphold cultural and religious traditions, even in newly liberated and resettled areas.
