Indonesia stands 7th in Islamic Solidarity Games
Konya, The Gulf Observer: The Indonesian contingent reached seventh place in the final medal tally of the 5th Islamic Solidarity Games (ISG) in Konya, Turkey, improving its achievement compared to the previous ISG edition in Baku, Azerbaijan.
According to a written statement received here on Friday, Indonesia bagged a total of 13 gold, 14 silver, and 29 bronze medals at the 5th ISG. Meanwhile, at the 4th ISG, the contingent had secured eighth place with a total of 6 gold, 29 silver, and 23 bronze medals.
Indonesia secured medals in just 7 of the 13 sports that it participated in.
Most of the medals — 12 gold, 7 silver, and 10 bronze medals — were snatched by weightlifting athletes.
