Tajikistan Marks Knowledge Day with Peace and Patriotism Lesson

Dushanbe, The Gulf Observer: Knowledge Day will be observed across Tajikistan’s educational institutions on August 31, with celebrations beginning with a special lesson dedicated to peace, patriotism and courage.

This year’s Knowledge Day and Peace Lesson are scheduled to be held with the participation of President of Tajikistan and Leader of the Nation Emomali Rahmon at Secondary School No. 105 in Dushanbe’s Shohmansur District, the Ministry of Education and Science told Khovar.

According to the ministry, assemblies will be held at educational institutions on August 31, with students from grades 8 to 11 and university students expected to participate. Pupils from grades 1 to 7 will begin their classes on September 1.

Educational institutions across the country are currently making preparations for the celebrations. Knowledge Day is traditionally marked throughout Tajikistan with festive events highlighting the importance of education and learning.

Every year, President Emomali Rahmon visits an educational institution on Knowledge Day to meet with pupils, students and representatives of the education sector. During such meetings, the President discusses the achievements and challenges facing the sector and encourages young people to pursue education and knowledge as essential foundations for their future and the country’s development.

On September 1, 2021, during Knowledge Day celebrations at the opening ceremony of Gymnasium No. 4 for gifted students in Dushanbe’s Firdavsi District, President Rahmon called on parents to closely monitor their children’s education and upbringing and to give priority to creating favourable conditions for their pursuit of knowledge.

The President stressed that the government’s efforts to provide young people with the best possible educational and upbringing conditions were aimed at enabling them to study diligently, acquire knowledge and master modern professions so that they could serve their people and homeland as dedicated young professionals in the future.

He also described today’s adolescents and young people as the future owners of the country and the state and the generation that would carry forward the honour and achievements of the nation.
