The national holiday is marked across Canada with official ceremonies, cultural programmes, concerts and fireworks celebrating the country’s history, culture and nationhood.

Louise Arbour, who assumed office as Canada’s 31st Governor General in June 2026, received the congratulatory message as part of the diplomatic exchange marking the national occasion.
