UAE and Jordan Sign MoU to Establish Joint Coordination Committee for Social Development

Abu Dhabi, The Gulf Observer: The United Arab Emirates and the Hashemite Kingdom of Jordan have signed a Memorandum of Understanding (MoU) to establish a Joint Coordination Committee for Social Development, reinforcing bilateral cooperation in advancing social welfare policies, community development, and the exchange of expertise between the two countries.

The agreement was signed by Shamma bint Suhail Al Mazrui, UAE Minister of Community Development, and Wafa Bani Mustafa, Jordan’s Minister of Social Development, as part of ongoing efforts to deepen strategic cooperation in the social sector. The MoU provides a framework for institutional collaboration and the implementation of joint initiatives aimed at enhancing the well-being of communities in both countries.

Under the agreement, the newly established Joint Coordination Committee will oversee cooperation in areas including social protection, family development, community empowerment, services for persons with disabilities, child welfare, volunteerism, and capacity building. It will also facilitate the exchange of best practices, policy expertise, research, and technical knowledge to strengthen the effectiveness of social development programmes.

The two sides emphasized that the partnership reflects the longstanding fraternal relations between the UAE and Jordan and their shared commitment to promoting inclusive and sustainable social development. The initiative is expected to support the implementation of innovative policies that enhance quality of life, strengthen social cohesion, and improve public services for citizens.

The MoU adds to the growing portfolio of bilateral agreements between the UAE and Jordan, underscoring the two countries’ commitment to expanding cooperation across multiple sectors in support of sustainable development and regional prosperity.
