UAE President, Mauritanian Leader Hold Talks on Bilateral Cooperation, Regional Security in Abu Dhabi

Abu Dhabi, The Gulf Observer: Sheikh Mohamed bin Zayed Al Nahyan, President of the United Arab Emirates, received Mohamed Ould Cheikh El Ghazouani, President of the Islamic Republic of Mauritania, during his working visit to the UAE, where the two leaders held wide-ranging discussions on strengthening bilateral relations and addressing key regional and global developments.

During the meeting, both sides explored avenues to enhance cooperation across multiple sectors, with particular emphasis on economic collaboration and renewable energy initiatives. The leaders underscored their shared commitment to advancing sustainable development goals and fostering long-term prosperity for their nations and peoples.

Sheikh Mohamed bin Zayed Al Nahyan and Mohamed Ould Cheikh El Ghazouani reaffirmed their determination to deepen UAE–Mauritania relations in a manner that supports inclusive growth and strengthens strategic partnership between the two countries.

The discussions also covered a range of regional and international issues of mutual concern, particularly the evolving situation in the Middle East. Both leaders highlighted the serious implications of ongoing developments for regional and global peace and security, including their impact on maritime security, energy supplies, and the global economy.

The meeting further addressed recent attacks targeting civilians and civilian infrastructure in the UAE and other parts of the region. President Ghazouani reiterated Mauritania’s firm condemnation of such acts, describing them as violations of sovereignty and international norms that threaten regional stability. He also commended the UAE’s effective measures to safeguard its sovereignty, ensure national security, and protect the safety of its citizens and residents.

The meeting was attended by senior UAE officials, including Hamdan bin Zayed Al Nahyan, Hamdan bin Mohamed bin Zayed Al Nahyan, and Mohammed bin Hamad bin Tahnoon Al Nahyan, along with a number of other sheikhs and dignitaries.
