UAE President, Ukrainian Counterpart Discuss Bilateral Cooperation and Regional Security

Abu Dhabi, The Gulf Observer: UAE President Sheikh Mohamed bin Zayed Al Nahyan and Ukrainian President Volodymyr Zelenskyy held a telephone conversation to review bilateral relations, with particular focus on economic and development cooperation and ways to further strengthen ties under the framework of the Comprehensive Economic Partnership Agreement (CEPA).
During the call, both leaders discussed opportunities to enhance collaboration in various sectors aimed at promoting sustainable prosperity and mutual growth for the peoples of the United Arab Emirates and Ukraine.
The two sides also exchanged views on recent developments in the Middle East and their serious implications for regional and international peace and security. Discussions further covered the impact of ongoing tensions on maritime security, global energy supplies, and the international economy.
President Zelenskyy reiterated Ukraine’s condemnation of the Iranian attacks targeting civilians and civilian infrastructure in the UAE, describing them as violations of the country’s sovereignty and international law that undermine regional and global peace and stability.
The Ukrainian president also expressed appreciation for the UAE’s continued mediation efforts between Ukraine and the Russian Federation concerning prisoner exchanges. He highlighted the humanitarian significance and success of these initiatives in supporting dialogue and easing tensions between the two sides.
