UAE, Syrian Presidents discuss bilateral ties, economic and development cooperation

Abu Dhabi, The Gulf Observer: President of the United Arab Emirates Sheikh Mohamed bin Zayed Al Nahyan and President of the Syrian Arab Republic Ahmad Al-Sharaa held talks on Tuesday on bilateral relations and ways to strengthen cooperation, particularly in the economic and development sectors.

The meeting was held during President Al-Sharaa’s working visit to the UAE to participate in the 24th edition of the Arab Media Summit in Dubai.

The two leaders reaffirmed their commitment to advancing UAE-Syria relations in line with their respective development priorities and in support of a more prosperous future for the two countries’ peoples.

They highlighted the significance of the recent visit by a UAE economic delegation to Syria, describing it as an important step toward strengthening bilateral economic cooperation, establishing frameworks to support Syria’s economic recovery and advancing strategic projects through partnerships that serve the development priorities of both countries.

The discussions also covered the Arab Media Summit and key issues on its agenda. Sheikh Mohamed bin Zayed thanked President Al-Sharaa for accepting the invitation to attend the summit.

The two sides also exchanged views on regional and international developments, with particular attention to the situation in the Middle East and its implications for the region’s future, security and stability.

They stressed the importance of strengthening regional and international security and stability to support the wellbeing and development of peoples around the world.

General Sheikh Saif bin Zayed Al Nahyan, Deputy Prime Minister and Minister of the Interior; Sheikh Hamed bin Zayed Al Nahyan; Sheikh Abdullah bin Zayed Al Nahyan, Deputy Prime Minister and Minister of Foreign Affairs; Sheikh Khalid bin Zayed Al Nahyan, Chairman of the Board of Trustees of Zayed Authority for People of Determination; Sheikh Theyab bin Mohamed bin Zayed Al Nahyan, Deputy Chairman of the Presidential Court for Development and Fallen Heroes’ Affairs; Sheikh Hamdan bin Mohamed bin Zayed Al Nahyan, Deputy Chairman of the Presidential Court for Special Affairs; Sheikh Zayed bin Mohamed bin Zayed Al Nahyan; Sheikh Nahyan bin Mubarak Al Nahyan, Minister of Tolerance and Coexistence; Sheikh Mohammed bin Hamad bin Tahnoon Al Nahyan, Adviser to the UAE President; as well as a number of sheikhs, ministers, officials and guests.

At the conclusion of his visit, President Al-Sharaa departed the UAE. Sheikh Abdullah bin Zayed Al Nahyan and a number of officials bid farewell to him at the airport.
