London: Doors of Westminster Abbey are open

London, The Gulf Observer: Dignitaries and politicians have begun filing into the church.

Nadhim Zahawi, chancellor of the Duchy of Lancaster, is among the first to arrive for the late Queen’s funeral service. Pranav Bhanot and Nancy O’Neill arrived at Westminster Abbey just after 8am.

A long-serving nurse, Ms O’Neill was recognized for her efforts during the COVID-19 pandemic.

Mr Bhanot, from Chigwell in Essex, helped deliver 1,200 free meals during the pandemic. Both are attending the funeral after being named in the Queen’s Birthday Honours.

The Queen’s coffin will arrive at 10.52am, with the funeral service due to start at 11am.
