Uzbek President receives PM of Tajikistan

Tashkent, The Gulf Observer: President of the Republic of Uzbekistan Shavkat Mirziyoyev received the Prime Minister of the Republic of Tajikistan Kohir Rasulzoda on Friday, who is in Uzbekistan to attend the regular meeting of the Joint Intergovernmental Commission.
Issues of further strengthening good neighborliness, strategic partnership, and alliance between Uzbekistan and Tajikistan were considered, and prospects for enhancing functional interaction were discussed.

Prime Minister Kohir Rasulzoda conveyed to the President of Uzbekistan the sincere greetings and best wishes of the President of Tajikistan, Emomali Rahmon.

At the meeting, the dynamic development of bilateral cooperation by the agreements at the highest level was noted with satisfaction. The trade turnover and cargo transportation are growing. The number of successful cooperation projects is increasing. Close interregional contacts have been established. Active cultural-humanitarian exchanges are carried out.

The primary attention was paid to adopting effective measures to increase trade turnover and promote promising projects in energy, engineering, agriculture, transport, mining, textile, and other industries with the involvement of financing of Uzbekistan – Tajikistan investment company.

In this context, the importance of practical implementation of the decisions of the meeting of the joint Intergovernmental Commission held on May 12 under the chairmanship of the Prime Ministers of the two countries in Tashkent was emphasized.
