Uzbekistan: 854 Representatives of Local and Foreign Media accredited
Tashkent, The Gulf Observer: The participants considered issues on organizing early voting of voters, maintaining public order and ensuring public safety during the presidential elections, working with appeals received by the Central Election Commission during the period of preparation for the polls, accreditation of observers from international organizations and media representatives participating in the presidential elections, informing the chairpersons of some district election commissions on the preparation and conduct of elections.
In accordance with the Election Code, a decision was made at the meeting to hold advance polling at polling stations for voters who cannot be at their residences on the day of the election of the President of the Republic of Uzbekistan.
A regular meeting of the Central Election Commission took place
“Advance polling will start on June 28 and end on July 5”, says H. Mamatov, Head of the CEC Secretariat. – The time of advance polling at the polling station is from 9:00 to 18:00 on weekdays and from 11:00 to 17:00 on weekends and holidays.
The participants discussed measures to ensure public order and security during the elections. Several tasks have been set for the units of the Ministry of Internal Affairs, the National Guard, and the Ministry of Emergency Situations, and an appropriate decision has been made.
By the decision of the Central Election Commission on the accreditation of observers from foreign states and international organizations participating in the early elections of the President of the Republic of Uzbekistan, 51 observers were accredited. In addition, by the decision on the accreditation of media representatives, 300 domestic media representatives were accredited. The total number of accredited representatives of local and foreign media is 854.
At the meeting, information was heard from the chairpersons of the 7th Samarkand, 6th Namangan, 12th Khorezm, 5th Navoi, and 10th Tashkent regional election commissions regarding the preparation and conduct of presidential elections. Commissions take all measures to conduct elections by law and at a high organizational level.
