Tashkent hosts the Meeting of Defense Ministers of the SCO Member States

Tashkent, The Gulf Observer: As part of the chairmanship of the Republic of Uzbekistan in the Shanghai Cooperation Organization, on 24 August 2022, the Meeting of Defense Ministers of the SCO member states began in Tashkent.

Issues of further expansion of interstate cooperation in the field of defense, measures to ensure peace, stability and security in the SCO space, coordination of the efforts of the Organization’s member states to counter challenges and threats are discussed at the meeting.

Secretary of the Security Council under the President of the Republic of Uzbekistan Viktor Makhmudov read out a message from the President of the Republic of Uzbekistan Shavkat Mirziyoyev to the participants of the Meeting.
