Uzbekistan's FM Meets with OIC Secretary General

Tashkent, The Gulf Observer: Today, Bakhtiyor Saidov, the Minister of Foreign Affairs of Uzbekistan, held a meeting with Hissein Brahim Taha, the Secretary General of the Organization of Islamic Cooperation (OIC). According to media reports, this significant meeting took place in the context of the international event titled “Khiva – the Tourism Capital of the Islamic World in 2024.”

Minister Saidov shared insights from the meeting on his official Telegram channel. “Had a productive meeting with the Secretary General of the Organization of Islamic Cooperation H.E. Hissein Brahim Taha who came to take part in the international event titled Khiva – the tourism capital of the Islamic world in 2024,” he wrote. “We focused on the acute topics of Uzbekistan’s cooperation with the OIC, current challenges around the world, ensuring peace and stability, as well as promoting enlightened Islam.”

The discussions underscored the ongoing commitment of Uzbekistan to deepen its collaboration with the OIC. Both leaders exchanged views on pressing global issues and reaffirmed their dedication to fostering peace, stability, and the promotion of enlightened Islam in the region and beyond.
