Pham Minh Chinh Meets with Foreign-Invested Enterprises

Hanoi, The Gulf Observer: Vietnamese Prime Minister Pham Minh Chinh participated in a meeting with representatives of donors and foreign-invested enterprises in Viet Nam on Friday, offering insights on the country’s achievements and development goals in the upcoming Lunar New Year season.

Hosted in Hanoi by the Ministry of Planning and Investment, the event brought together government officials, ambassadors, heads of development cooperation agencies, and representatives from international organizations, associations, and foreign investors in Viet Nam.

Minister of Planning and Investment Nguyen Chi Dung, in his opening remarks, acknowledged the challenges faced by Việt Nam in 2023 but highlighted the nation’s remarkable achievements amid global economic uncertainties. He expressed confidence that with concerted efforts and effective cooperation with diplomatic agencies, development partners, international organizations, businesses, and foreign investors, Viet Nam will continue its socio-economic development momentum in 2024.

Representatives of international organizations, donors, and foreign investors congratulated Viet Nam for overcoming challenges and achieving significant milestones. They commended the country’s development strategies, especially its commitment to green and sustainable development, social security, welfare, environmental protection, and the goal of reaching net-zero emissions by 2050.

The international delegates pledged their support to Viet Nam’s ambitions of becoming a developing country with a modern industry and upper-middle-income status by 2030 and a developed nation with high income by 2045.

Prime Minister Pham Minh Chinh extended New Year greetings to the attendees, emphasizing Viet Nam’s three-pillar national development policy, centered on building socialist democracy, a law-governed socialist State, and a socialist-oriented market economy. He highlighted the country’s commitment to people-centric development, considering citizens as the core, subject, goal, momentum, and resource of development.

Despite challenges posed by the COVID-19 pandemic and global situations, PM Chính credited Viet Nam’s achievements to the leadership of the Communist Party of Viet Nam, the collective efforts of the political system, citizens, and businesses, as well as the support from international friends, investors, and sponsors.

Expressing gratitude on behalf of Party and State leaders, PM Chinh called for continued solidarity and collective action to foster prosperity, happiness, and a better world. He emphasized the spirit of “harmonizing interests and sharing risks,” highlighting that victories for partners are also victories for Viet Nam. The Prime Minister urged joint efforts to ensure no one is left behind for the sake of prosperity for each nation and a more prosperous world.
