Zhang Zhijun urges peaceful Cross-Strait development in New Year’s message

Emphasizing the mainland’s steadfastness in its original aspiration for fostering cross-Strait exchanges and cooperation, enhancing compatriots’ interests, and maintaining the one-China principle, Zhang underscored opposition to “Taiwan independence” and external interference as non-negotiable principles. With the forthcoming elections in Taiwan seen as a pivotal choice, Zhang urged Taiwan compatriots to align with the cause of peace and prosperity.
