14th Dieng Culture Festival Set for August 23-25, 2024

Banjarnegara, The Gulf Observer: The 14th Dieng Culture Festival (DCF) will take place from August 23 to 25, 2024, as announced by the Dieng Pandawa Tourism Awareness Group (Pokdarwis) on Sunday. The group, which organizes the annual event, is still finalizing the schedule and location details.

Chairperson Alif Faozi stated, “The implementation of the 14th DCF in 2024 has been determined, namely on August 23-25, but we are still fixing the schedule and location of the activity.”

This year’s DCF will carry the theme “Back to Journey,” focusing on reviving cultural values. As part of this focus, some music performances will be scaled back. Specifically, the event will feature only one musical night, “Jazz Atas Awan,” while the “Harmony Atas Awan” performance may be excluded. Faozi suggested that Harmony Atas Awan and Jazz Atas Awan could become separate events outside of the DCF, which would further promote tourism in the Dieng Highlands.

“The DCF activities will focus more on traditional art performances as the main event,” Faozi added.

The group is coordinating with the Ministry of Education, Culture, Research, and Technology to finalize the event’s location, with a proposal for the Arjuna Temple Complex and the Pandawa Field being considered. Faozi noted that although the DCF is part of the Kharisma Event Nusantara, the Ministry is keen on exploring more details about the festival.

The Dieng Culture Festival has been a significant cultural event in Central Java, attracting tourists and promoting the region’s rich cultural heritage. This year’s festival promises to enhance the traditional cultural experience for all attendees.
