Baku, The Gulf Observer: The 9th Baku International Book Fair has been launched, according to media reports.
The opening ceremony brough together Azerbaijan’s Minister of Culture Adil Karimli, Commissioner for Human Rights (Ombudsman) of Azerbaijan Sabina Aliyeva, ANAS president Isa Habibbayli, Russia’s Ambassador to Azerbaijan Mikhail Yevdokimov, chairman of the Press Council of Azerbaijan Rashad Majid, as well as MPs, state and public figures, and media representatives.
In his remarks, Minister Adil Karimli highlighted the damage Armenians caused to libraries and book fund in Garabagh during the occupation.
Ombudsperson Sabina Aliyeva noted the importance of publishing in the form of books the crimes committed by Armenians, and their mass memory propaganda.
Following the speeches, the exhibition was declared open.
The book fair will run until November 15.
