Türkiye Calls for Punitive Measures Against Israel’s Actions in West Bank
Ankara, The Gulf Observer: Türkiye has called for “punitive and coercive measures” in response to Israel’s recent actions in the occupied West Bank, which the country asserts are in complete defiance of international law. The Turkish Foreign Ministry issued a strong statement condemning Israel’s latest operation in the region and the remarks made by Israeli Foreign Minister Israel Katz about extending practices from Gaza to the West Bank.
“It is imperative that the necessary punitive and coercive measures be taken against these actions by Israel in complete defiance of international law,” the Foreign Ministry emphasized in its statement. The ministry further denounced Israel’s “illegal operation” in the West Bank, describing it as a violation of international norms and a significant threat to global security.
The statement also criticized the “genocidal policy” being pursued by Israeli Prime Minister Benjamin Netanyahu’s government, warning of its dangerous implications for international stability. Türkiye urged the international community, particularly those nations that unconditionally support Israel, to reconsider their stance, aligning their positions with international law and human conscience.
Türkiye’s call for action reflects its continued commitment to upholding international legal standards and its ongoing concern over the situation in the occupied Palestinian territories.
