Iranian and Omani Foreign Ministers Discuss Urgent End to Gaza Conflict
Tehran, The Gulf Observer: Iranian Foreign Minister Abbas Araghchi met with his Omani counterpart, Sayyid Badr al-Busaidi, in Muscat on Monday to discuss regional developments, with a focus on ending the ongoing genocidal war in the Gaza Strip.
Araghchi, who had previously been in Baghdad for talks with Iraqi officials, arrived in Muscat as part of his broader regional tour, which has included visits to Iraq, Lebanon, Syria, Saudi Arabia, and Qatar. His diplomatic mission aims to hold the Israeli regime accountable for its continued aggression in Gaza and to seek regional support for ending the conflict.
In Muscat, the two foreign ministers engaged in detailed discussions on the alarming situation in Gaza and Lebanon. According to Iran’s Foreign Ministry spokesperson Esmaeil Baghaei Hamaneh, who shared updates via X (formerly Twitter), the talks were based on the deep-rooted brotherly ties between Iran and Oman. Both sides called for an immediate cessation of hostilities and highlighted the Israeli regime’s genocide and aggression as urgent matters that require international action.
Hamaneh emphasized that the discussions were “very rich,” with both officials agreeing on the need for intensified international humanitarian efforts to provide relief to the growing number of refugees displaced by the conflict.
In a related development, Araghchi also held a meeting with Mohammad Abdul Salam, the spokesman and chief negotiator of Yemen’s National Salvation Government, during his visit to Muscat.
Iran has been actively engaging with regional nations to coordinate responses and strategies to address the ongoing crisis in Gaza, urging the international community to prioritize humanitarian assistance and accountability for those responsible for the violence.
