Oman Across Ages Museum Welcomes One Millionth Visitor
Muscat, The Gulf Observer: The Oman Across Ages Museum has welcomed its one millionth visitor since the opening of its exhibition halls, marking a significant milestone in the museum’s journey and underscoring its growing role as a cultural, educational and tourism destination.
The museum said visitors from Oman and abroad have visited the institution, with Omani nationals accounting for 81 percent of the total visitors, while international tourists represented the remaining 19 percent.
A special ceremony was held to mark the arrival of the millionth visitor, who was honoured during the event and taken on a guided tour of the museum’s galleries. The tour showcased prominent historical sites, interactive exhibits and modern technologies employed to present Oman’s history and cultural heritage.
Engineer Al Yaqdhan Abdullah Al Harthi, Director General of the Oman Across Ages Museum, said the milestone represented a celebration of all visitors who had come to explore Oman’s history and heritage.
He said the achievement reflected the museum’s sustained efforts since its opening and would provide further impetus to enhance and develop the visitor experience.
The museum said reaching one million visitors was a significant milestone in its development and demonstrated the growing public and international interest in the institution as a cultural and educational destination.
The Oman Across Ages Museum officially opened on March 13, 2023, under the patronage of His Majesty Sultan Haitham bin Tarik.
Since its inauguration, the museum has established itself as a prominent venue for showcasing Oman’s history, civilisation and cultural heritage through contemporary exhibition techniques, interactive experiences and modern technologies.
