Turkmenistan to Introduce Press Attaché Positions in Diplomatic Missions Abroad

Ashgabat, The Gulf Observer: Turkmenistan is set to introduce press attaché positions in several of its diplomatic missions abroad as part of a broader effort to enhance its international information activities. This announcement was made by Deputy Prime Minister and Foreign Minister Rashid Meredov during an online government meeting on Friday.

According to official Turkmen media, the decision aims to strengthen the country’s communication efforts on the global stage, aligning with Turkmenistan’s growing international collaboration. The press attaché roles will help foster direct cooperation with the UN Department of Global Communications, which has become increasingly significant as Turkmenistan expands its diplomatic reach.

The proposal also marks a shift in Turkmenistan’s scientific and diplomatic engagement. As part of the new strategy, the country’s journal Foreign Policy and Diplomacy of Turkmenistan will send correspondents abroad and establish partnerships with leading international publications in related fields, further enhancing the country’s visibility in global discourse.

Additionally, an innovative initiative is set to launch with the creation of a special zone for Digital Integration. This project will harness the potential of Turkmenistan’s young IT specialists to develop and implement digital technologies in international communications, reinforcing the nation’s role in the digital age.

President Serdar Berdimuhammedov has endorsed these initiatives, noting their alignment with Turkmenistan’s neutral foreign policy status and emphasizing the importance of integrating modern information technologies into the country’s diplomatic and communication efforts.

The government meeting also addressed key socio-economic development tasks, reviewed several project documents, and discussed other important matters for the nation’s continued progress.
