Kyrgyz Trade House to Open in Almaty

Almaty, The Gulf Observer: A trade house for Kyrgyzstan is set to open in Almaty, Kazakhstan, as reported by local media. The announcement followed a recent meeting between the Consul General of Kyrgyzstan in Almaty, Jenishbek Asankulov, and representatives of the Kyrgyz diaspora in the city.
During the discussions, plans were also shared to establish a business club for Kyrgyz entrepreneurs operating within the consular district. The club will aim to foster collaboration and promote Kyrgyz businesses in Kazakhstan.
Other key topics addressed during the meeting included ensuring compliance with local laws, preventing the involvement of Kyrgyz citizens in extremism and terrorism, tackling drug-related crimes, and improving financial literacy among migrant workers. These initiatives are part of broader efforts to strengthen community welfare and security within the diaspora.
A draft plan for the interaction between the General Consulate and the Kyrgyz diaspora in the consular district for 2025 was also reviewed and approved.
According to the State Statistical Committee of Kyrgyzstan, trade turnover between Kyrgyzstan and Kazakhstan reached $1.208 billion from January to November 2024, a decrease of 4.6 percent compared to the same period in 2023.
Additionally, it was reported that Kyrgyzstan is set to adopt its National Development Program for the years leading up to 2030, marking a significant step toward the country’s long-term economic and social goals.
