Oman Participates in World Economic Forum Annual Meetings in Davos 2025

Muscat, The Gulf Observer: The Sultanate of Oman is taking part in the annual meetings of the World Economic Forum (WEF) in Davos, Switzerland, from January 20 to 24, 2025. The WEF is one of the most prominent international economic events, bringing together government leaders, entrepreneurs, academics, and representatives from civil society institutions to discuss global challenges and explore solutions that contribute to sustainable growth.
The forum plays a pivotal role in shaping innovative visions for transitioning to more sustainable and equitable economies, with a special focus on future challenges related to climate change, technological development, and social equality. It aims to foster communication and cooperation among governments, companies, and academic and community institutions to achieve shared goals.
The WEF 2025 meetings are centered around five key topics: developing a green economy to accelerate sustainable development through carbon emission reduction; supporting environmentally friendly innovations using modern technologies to build resilient infrastructure; transitioning to green energy to reduce reliance on traditional energy sources; fostering sustainable economic growth that benefits communities while protecting natural resources; and examining the impact of technology, including artificial intelligence (AI), the Internet of Things (IoT), health technologies, regulatory technologies, and financial technologies, on various economic sectors.
Oman’s delegation to the WEF is headed by Dr. Said Mohammed Al Saqri, Minister of Economy, and includes representatives from both the public and private sectors.
