Iran, Thailand Strengthen Bilateral Ties in High-Level Diplomatic Talks

Tehran, The Gulf Observer: Senior diplomats from Iran and Thailand have reaffirmed their commitment to deepening bilateral relations during a high-level meeting held in Tehran. The discussions coincided with the 70th anniversary of diplomatic ties between the two nations.
Mohammad-Reza Bahrami, Director General for South Asia at Iran’s Ministry of Foreign Affairs, met with Eksiri Pintaruchi, Permanent Secretary of Thailand’s Ministry of Foreign Affairs, on Friday to explore avenues for enhanced cooperation. The meeting focused on expanding political, economic, and cultural partnerships.
Both sides emphasized the necessity of increasing political consultations, strengthening bilateral cooperation, and implementing joint programs to bolster mutual interests. In this regard, key agreements were reached, including the exchange of high-level delegations, the establishment of a joint economic commission, and the continuation of expert-level consultations in science and technology.
During the meeting, Pintaruchi expressed gratitude for Iran’s efforts in facilitating the release of Thai prisoners in Gaza, underscoring Thailand’s strong political will to elevate cooperation with Iran across various sectors.
Furthermore, the two nations agreed to implement cultural programs and hold a joint consular meeting in the coming months. Discussions also covered the importance of multilateralism in addressing global challenges, with both parties pledging to enhance collaboration in the international arena.
The latest talks reflect a mutual commitment to advancing Iran-Thailand relations and expanding cooperation in various strategic areas, setting the stage for deeper engagement in the years ahead.
