Azerbaijan Allocates $2.9 Million to Improve Irrigation in Ismayilli District

Baku, The Gulf Observer: President of the Republic of Azerbaijan Ilham Aliyev has signed a decree to enhance the irrigation water supply for agricultural lands in the village of Ivanovka, Ismayilli district, according to News Hub Consultants.
The decree allocates an initial 5 million manat ($2.9 million) from the Presidential Reserve Fund, as specified in Azerbaijan’s 2025 state budget, to the State Agency for Water Resources of the Republic of Azerbaijan. These funds will be used to improve irrigation services for 1,250 hectares of agricultural land in Ivanovka.
Responsibilities and Budget Allocation
- The Ministry of Finance of Azerbaijan is responsible for ensuring the financing outlined in the decree.
- The Ministry of Economy will allocate additional funds in the 2026 state budget under capital investment expenses to complete the irrigation project.
- The Cabinet of Ministers is tasked with addressing any issues arising from the decree.
