Ethiopian Ambassador in Pakistan Discusses Regional Peace and Bilateral Cooperation with Turkmenistan’s Envoy

Islamabad, The Gulf Observer: Dr. Jemal Beker, Special Envoy and Plenipotentiary Ambassador of the Federal Democratic Republic of Ethiopia in Pakistan, held an extensive discussion with H.E. Atajan Movlamov, Ambassador of Turkmenistan and Dean of the Diplomatic Corps in Islamabad.

During the meeting, Ambassador Dr. Jemal Beker provided a detailed briefing on Ethiopia’s current political, economic, and social developments, including the ongoing national peace efforts and initiatives led by Ethiopia’s National Reconciliation Commission. He emphasized the positive steps being taken to foster internal stability and highlighted Ethiopia’s significant role in promoting regional peace, cooperation, and integration across the Horn of Africa and beyond.

The discussion also focused on the growing bilateral ties between Ethiopia and Turkmenistan. Both envoys recognized the potential for deeper collaboration between the two landlocked nations, particularly in areas of mutual interest such as trade, regional connectivity, energy, and multilateral diplomacy.

Ambassador Dr. Beker and Ambassador Movlamov exchanged views on enhancing cooperation within the framework of non-aligned and multilateral platforms, and reiterated their countries’ commitment to strengthening ties through active participation in international conferences and joint initiatives hosted by Turkmenistan.

The diplomats concluded the meeting with a shared vision for closer bilateral coordination and a commitment to work jointly on areas of economic development, diplomacy, and cultural exchange, building on their longstanding relationship and shared geopolitical interests.
