President Ilham Aliyev Inaugurates Yevlakh Olympic Sports Complex

Yevlakh, The Gulf Observer: President of the Republic of Azerbaijan Ilham Aliyev attended the inauguration ceremony of the newly built Yevlakh Olympic Sports Complex on Saturday.
Minister of Youth and Sports Farid Gayibov briefed the head of state on the facilities and infrastructure of the complex, which was constructed over an area of 5.8 hectares. Construction began in 2024 and has now been completed with state-of-the-art amenities to support a wide range of sporting activities.
The complex comprises outdoor sports fields, a stadium, and a universal sports hall with a capacity of 1,100 spectators. It also includes specialized facilities for wrestling, judo, artistic gymnastics, boxing, kickboxing, taekwondo, karate, fitness, and gym training, alongside a modern swimming pool. Supporting facilities such as a meeting room, café, restaurant, rooms for referees, coaches, doctors, and commentators, as well as a 42-room hotel building, have also been incorporated.
Notably, the Yevlakh Olympic Sports Complex will serve as a key venue during the 3rd CIS Games, with boxing competitions scheduled to be held at the facility.
The inauguration marks another step in Azerbaijan’s ongoing efforts to expand its sports infrastructure, promote healthy lifestyles, and enhance the country’s capacity to host major international competitions.
