Pakistan Reaffirms Full Support for Somalia’s Sovereignty, Condemns Israeli Actions: Ishaq Dar

Islamabad, The Gulf Observer: Deputy Prime Minister and Foreign Minister Ishaq Dar has reaffirmed Pakistan’s unconditional and full support for Somalia’s sovereignty, unity, and territorial integrity, strongly condemning Israel’s actions regarding Somaliland.
Addressing the 22nd Extraordinary Session of the Council of Foreign Ministers of the Organization of Islamic Cooperation (OIC) convened to discuss Israel’s recognition of Somaliland, Ishaq Dar stated that Pakistan unequivocally rejects and condemns Israel’s steps, terming them a clear violation of international law.
He emphasized that Somaliland is an undisputed and integral part of Somalia, and any actions suggesting otherwise have no legal or moral standing. The Deputy Prime Minister described the visit of the Israeli Foreign Minister to Somaliland as highly alarming, adding that Israel’s moves constitute a direct attack on Somalia’s internationally recognized borders.
Ishaq Dar underlined that sovereignty and territorial integrity are fundamental principles under international law, and no external entity or state has the legal or ethical right to alter this reality. He warned that such actions pose a serious threat to peace and security in the Horn of Africa and the Red Sea region.
The Foreign Minister further noted that Pakistan, along with other OIC member states, has jointly rejected Israel’s actions through a collective statement, reiterating that these measures violate international law and the Charter of the United Nations.
He also stressed the urgent need for efforts to end the war in Gaza and ensure the provision of humanitarian assistance, affirming that Pakistan will continue to cooperate with OIC and Arab countries in support of the Palestinian people’s right to self-determination.
