Malaysian High Commissioner Visits Madrasah Ashraf-Ul-Uloom, Distributes Zakat Fitrah in Islamabad

Islamabad, The Gulf Observer: Ambassador Dato’ Mohammad Azhar Mazlan, the High Commissioner of Malaysia to Pakistan, visited Madrasah Ashraf-Ul-Uloom in Islamabad on Thursday, 12 March 2026, where he also distributed zakat fitrah to the institution’s management.

The visit was organised by Kelab STMI and led by Ambassador Dato’ Azhar, accompanied by the President of Kelab STMI and other officials of the Malaysian High Commission.

Upon arrival, the delegation was warmly received by Moulana Abdul Ghuffar Abbasi, Principal of the Madrasah, along with members of the teaching staff. During the meeting, Moulana Abbasi briefed the High Commissioner on the history, educational activities and community contributions of the institution.

Established in 1925, Madrasah Ashraf-Ul-Uloom is among the longstanding religious educational institutions in Islamabad. Over the decades, thousands of students have completed their religious studies at the madrasah and are currently serving in various mosques and religious institutions across Islamabad and other cities.

During the visit, Ambassador Dato’ Azhar also presented zakat fitrah to the madrasah’s management as part of charitable efforts, highlighting the importance of supporting religious and educational institutions that contribute to community development and spiritual learning.
