Pakistan Observes Defence and Martyrs’ Day to Honour 1965 War Heroes

Islamabad, The Gulf Observer: Pakistan is observing Defence and Martyrs’ Day across the country on Sunday to pay tribute to the armed forces personnel and civilians who sacrificed their lives in defence of the country.

The day commemorates the September 1965 war, when Pakistan’s armed forces and the nation confronted an attack and mounted resistance against the opposing forces. Defence and Martyrs’ Day is observed annually to honour the courage, sacrifices and services of the country’s fallen soldiers.

According to the report, the nation is also recalling the spirit of national unity and resilience demonstrated during the 1965 conflict, while paying tribute to the martyrs who made the ultimate sacrifice for the country.

A special ceremony is scheduled to be held at Mazar-e-Quaid in Karachi at 8:00 a.m. as part of the commemorative activities.

The occasion is marked by ceremonies and tributes across Pakistan, with the armed forces and the nation remembering those who lost their lives in the line of duty. The day also serves as a reminder of the importance of national solidarity and commitment to safeguarding Pakistan’s sovereignty and territorial integrity.
