UAE President, European Council Chief Discuss Regional Escalation, Strengthen Cooperation

Abu Dhabi, The Gulf Observer: UAE President His Highness Sheikh Mohamed bin Zayed Al Nahyan received a phone call from António Costa, during which both leaders reviewed the latest developments in the region amid ongoing military escalation and its implications for regional and international peace and security.
The discussions highlighted the serious impact of the current situation on international navigation and the global economy, underscoring the need for coordinated efforts to maintain stability and safeguard critical trade routes.
During the call, the two sides also addressed continued Iranian aggression targeting the UAE and other countries in the region, including attacks on civilians and vital infrastructure. President Costa strongly condemned these actions, describing them as a violation of sovereignty and international law, and a threat to regional and global peace.
Both leaders further explored avenues to enhance cooperation between the UAE and the European Union, along with its member states, emphasizing the importance of strengthening partnerships in ways that advance shared interests and deliver mutual benefits.
The call reaffirmed the commitment of both sides to continued dialogue and collaboration in addressing regional challenges and promoting long-term stability.
