Azerbaijan and Jordan Reaffirm Commitment to Strengthening Bilateral Relations

Baku, The Gulf Observer: President of the Republic of Azerbaijan Ilham Aliyev on June 21 received a delegation from the Hashemite Kingdom of Jordan led by Speaker of the House of Representatives Mazen Turki Sa’oud El Qadi, according to the Presidential Press Service.
During the meeting, President Aliyev underscored that relations between Azerbaijan and Jordan are rooted in friendship and brotherhood, noting that both countries have consistently supported each other on key issues. He expressed confidence that cooperation would continue to expand across political, economic, humanitarian, and interparliamentary domains.
The Azerbaijani president highlighted the importance of the Jordanian speaker’s participation in the 20th Session of the Conference of the Parliamentary Union of the OIC Member States, being held in Baku. He said the visit would contribute to strengthening bilateral ties and provide an opportunity to enhance cooperation between the legislative institutions of both countries.
The Jordanian delegation conveyed greetings from King Abdullah II ibn Al Hussein to President Aliyev. In response, President Aliyev expressed gratitude and requested that his greetings be reciprocated, while also extending an invitation to the Jordanian monarch to visit Azerbaijan.
The speaker thanked President Aliyev for the warm reception, describing it as a reflection of the strong and brotherly relations between the two nations. He noted that bilateral ties have developed significantly due to the political will of both leaderships and praised Azerbaijan’s progress and stability.
Mazen El Qadi also commended Azerbaijan’s active role within the Organization of Islamic Cooperation Organization of Islamic Cooperation, particularly its consistent stance on issues concerning the Islamic and Arab world, including support for the Palestinian cause.
He further congratulated Azerbaijan on the restoration of its territorial integrity and sovereignty, highlighting ongoing reconstruction and development efforts in Karabakh and East Zangezur under President Aliyev’s leadership. He also expressed admiration for the cleanliness and development of Baku.
President Aliyev, in turn, reaffirmed Azerbaijan’s commitment to Islamic solidarity and reiterated support for a two-state solution to the Palestinian issue, with Al-Quds Al-Sharif as its capital.
Both sides exchanged views on expanding bilateral cooperation, future high-level contacts, and issues of mutual interest aimed at further deepening relations between Azerbaijan and Jordan.
