Azerbaijan, TRNC Discuss Expanding Cooperation in Healthcare Sector

Baku, The Gulf Observer: Azerbaijan’s Minister of Health, Teymur Musayev, held talks with a delegation from the Turkish Republic of Northern Cyprus (TRNC), led by Health Minister Hakan Dinçyürek, to discuss strengthening bilateral cooperation in the healthcare sector.

During the meeting, Minister Musayev said cooperation between Azerbaijan and the TRNC had been progressing successfully across various fields, including healthcare. He highlighted significant opportunities to further enhance collaboration through the exchange of professional expertise in medical education, healthcare management, digital health, the organization of healthcare services, and other related areas.

The Azerbaijani health minister also briefed the visiting delegation on the comprehensive healthcare reforms undertaken in recent years. He outlined key initiatives, including the digitalization of the healthcare system, modernization of medical infrastructure, and measures aimed at ensuring wider public access to high-quality healthcare services.

TRNC Health Minister Hakan Dinçyürek reaffirmed his country’s commitment to strengthening healthcare cooperation with Azerbaijan. He emphasized that greater collaboration in medical education, specialist training, healthcare service delivery, digital health, and health tourism would provide mutual benefits for both sides.

The two ministers also exchanged views on expanding cooperation in healthcare and medical science, promoting reciprocal training programmes for healthcare professionals, advancing joint medical research, exploring opportunities in health tourism, and enhancing collaboration in other areas of mutual interest.
