Turkmen President Extends Condolences to Qatar’s Emir on Passing of Sheikh Hamad bin Khalifa Al Thani

Ashgabat, The Gulf Observer: President of Turkmenistan Serdar Berdimuhamedov has extended heartfelt condolences to Qatar’s Emir, Sheikh Tamim bin Hamad Al Thani, following the passing of his father, the former Emir of Qatar, Sheikh Hamad bin Khalifa Al Thani, Turkmen state media reported on Sunday.
On behalf of the people and Government of Turkmenistan, as well as in his personal capacity, President Berdimuhamedov conveyed his deepest sympathies to Emir Sheikh Tamim bin Hamad Al Thani, the Qatari royal family and the people of the State of Qatar over the bereavement.
In his condolence message, the Turkmen President prayed for strength and patience for the Qatari leadership and the bereaved family during this difficult time.
“May Almighty Allah grant Emir Sheikh Tamim bin Hamad Al Thani and his family strength and patience at this difficult time. May the soul of the deceased rest in paradise,” President Berdimuhamedov said in his message.
Sheikh Hamad bin Khalifa Al Thani served as the Emir of the State of Qatar from 1995 to 2013, a period marked by significant political, economic and developmental progress. During his tenure, Qatar emerged as a leading regional and global actor through ambitious economic reforms, infrastructure development and an expanded international diplomatic role.
In 2013, Sheikh Hamad voluntarily transferred power to his son, Sheikh Tamim bin Hamad Al Thani, ensuring a smooth leadership transition while leaving behind a lasting legacy that continues to shape Qatar’s development and international standing.
