Oman Foreign Minister Holds Regional Consultations to Support Maritime Security and Ease Regional Tensions
Muscat, The Gulf Observer: Oman’s Foreign Minister, Sayyid Badr bin Hamad Al Busaidi, held a series of telephone conversations with several regional counterparts to discuss the latest regional developments and ongoing diplomatic efforts aimed at reducing tensions and safeguarding maritime stability.
The discussions included Sheikh Mohammed bin Abdulrahman bin Jassim Al Thani, Prime Minister and Minister of Foreign Affairs of the State of Qatar; Prince Faisal bin Farhan bin Abdullah Al Saud, Minister of Foreign Affairs of the Kingdom of Saudi Arabia; Sheikh Jarrah Jaber Al Ahmed Al Sabah, Minister of Foreign Affairs of the State of Kuwait; Dr. Badr Abdelatty, Minister of Foreign Affairs, International Cooperation and Egyptian Expatriates of the Arab Republic of Egypt; and Dr. Abbas Araghchi, Foreign Minister of the Islamic Republic of Iran.
According to Oman’s Foreign Ministry, the telephone consultations focused on achieving practical, fair, and sustainable understandings regarding maritime navigation and the uninterrupted flow of global supply chains through political and diplomatic means, serving the interests of regional countries and all stakeholders reliant on shipping through the Strait of Hormuz.
The ministers emphasized the critical importance of ensuring the safety and security of maritime navigation, restoring the smooth flow of international trade and supply chains, and protecting the stability of the regional and global economy.
They also agreed to maintain close coordination and regular consultations in support of regional security, stability, and continued diplomatic engagement to address shared challenges through peaceful dialogue.
